sun jr.

jim heekin - guitar/vox, Matt kubis - banjo/vox, jeremiah streets - keys/bass, Jon Schimek - pedal steel/guitar, Nod Norkus - Drums

The bastard son of a psychedelic-fueled desert orgy that no one will claim and resembles all who were there, including The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, The Band, and The Grateful Dead.  Sun Jr. was raised in the shadows of their contemporaries, other bastard sons, and kindred cousins including My Morning Jacket, Local Natives, Alabama Shakes, Lord Huron, Father John Misty, Sturgill Simpson, and Wilco. Influenced by the sounds of a diverse family tree, the real magic is in their ability to seamlessly implement new sounds from within their heritage. Never allowing the song structure to harness the impulse of the moment, Sun Jr. creates a wall of sound through their unique tapestry of folk, western, and rock n' roll sounds, phasered, and melded through swirling psychedelic effects and effortlessly slipping in and out of ethereal space ballads, dark surf swings, and swampy foot-stomping jams.
