We’re excited to share that our new album, The Many Moon Hex, has peeked over the horizon. Produced, recorded and mixed by Charlie Rose, this record feels like both a milestone and a homecoming.
The Many Moon Hex is a chronicle of songs that have traveled with us for years - road-tested, jammed, expanded, trimmed, and rebuilt until they became the heart of what we wanted to capture. This album is our attempt to record the essence of Sun Jr.: honest, expansive, a little irreverent, and not afraid to stretch past radio-friendly boundaries.
The collaboration with Charlie Rose gave this project its own spark. Charlie, who has performed with Elephant Revival, Caamp, and Railroad Earth, brought fresh ears and fearless energy into the mix. Together, we leaned into the layered tapestry of strings and rhythms that define our sound - part classic blues rock, part western mountain grass, what some have called Psych Mountain Rock. It lives somewhere in Americana, with a little more rock, and a little more soul. Familiar, but wholly our own.
The Many Moon Hex is the sound of our journey, and we can’t wait for you to hear it.
