He did in fact write that…and say it countless times as we conducted this interview.  Geoff of the Taj Mahal soundtracked, iconic ski movie, Scrapple, and Widespread Panic: Live at Oak Mountain (2001) knows his music, so to have him sounding the gong feels pretty surreal.
